BEYOND THE CLOUDS OF OUR PROBLEMS
FEEL LIKE ENDING IT ALL?
Feeling pretty bad? Like giving up? Everything hopeless? Things can certainly get pretty rough and I don't doubt your distress or the seriousness of your problems. But don't despair! Keep your chin up!
I want you to realise something - that no matter how bad things have been for you, no matter how rough a time that you have been having, God knows about you and He longs to help you.
Now here is some very good news. Don't shut off - this is important. There is a very special piece of instruction in the Bible which was written especially for the times in which we are living. It is short and to the point. It says that: "Whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved." (You'll find that in the Bible in Acts 2:21 if you want to check it out for yourself.) That means that no matter how serious your problems are, or what you may have done, YOU CAN HAVE HELP NOW!
Say this prayer out loud:
"Lord, I call on your name to help me now because I can't help myself."
Now notice this:
No matter how bad things are for you now, GOD HAS PROMISED TO MAKE ALL THINGS NEW.
He is going to make a new heaven and a new earth and HE WILL WIPE AWAY ALL TEARS FROM THE EYES AND THERE WILL BE NO MORE DEATH, NEITHER SORROW, NOR CRYING, NEITHER SHALL THERE BE ANY MORE PAIN." (That promise is in the Bible, in Revelation 21:1 and 4 if you would like to check it out for yourself.)
You can share in that if you wish.
You have been thinking of killing yourself. But I want to tell you that the Great God - the Creator, so understands the problems of people like you that He came to this earth, took on Himself our humanity as Jesus Christ, and allowed Himself to be killed. He died at Calvary for the sins of all so that people like you can live in peace and happiness for eternity.
THERE IS NO NEED FOR YOU TO DIE. Jesus died for you instead. Then He rose from the dead again, and He plans to make a new heaven and a new earth so that you, and others, can have a better future than the rough time that you have been having. Look at this.
"For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish but have everlasting life." In the Bible you'll find that in John 3:16. In verse 18 it talks about believing in the NAME of Jesus. His name actually means that He will save us from our sins.
So if you want something better, you can have it. Forget all the broken promises that have been made to you. This is for real. And God keeps His promises. The verses above assure you that you can have something better by believing in the name of Jesus. That gives you hope, real hope, for the future. And it gives you peace, right now.
I want to suggest something that you may think strange at first. That is, get some exercise. Exercise? Certainly. It will help to break the tensions that have built up inside you. A good long walk can do wonders. But if for some reason you can't walk try to get some other form of exercise to break the tensions. Try to consult a doctor as soon as you can, and ask him or her for some medication to get you over this hurdle in the short term. You should know that alcohol, drugs, even cola drinks or coffee can give you such mood swings as to cause a lot of problems for you. Ask your doctor for help with these areas also.
There is one other area of help that I can give you. May I suggest that you read the two articles in this website called: "Beyond You Problems There Is Hope," and "God's Incredible Promise," and follow the advice there.
When you have really grasped what these articles are saying, find others, every day, and tell them too. There is a world out there, filled with people that you, with your special experience and gifts, can help. NO ONE CAN FILL THIS UNIQUE PLACE LIKE YOU.
I wish you well. Every day when you wake, thank God for your life, and ask Him to help you personally, and then to help you to assist someone else in need.
